In December 2014 I approached Rory from Firefly Photography to see if he could take some photos of our beautiful dog Luke. Luke had been a loyal, hard- working drug detection dog for our business NZ Detector Dog Services for several years. Unfortunately he had contracted cancer and had very limited time left. My aim was to get some photographic memories while he was still looking bright. Rory’s response was amazing. He arranged to meet Luke and me the next day at his studio where he took a real and genuine interest in Luke’s life story and then took a series of photographs that were quite simply stunning. He then had the selected photos printed and mounted within 3 days so that they could be given to my wife as a Christmas present. I was blown away by the service provided by Rory and the quality of the photographs. His love of animals is obvious and I could not recommend his services highly enough. Luke passed away 5 weeks later and we are forever grateful to Rory for the amazing memorial photographs.

It's not easy for me to look good, but you certainly did a great job. I was delighted with the extra effort and energy that you put into the entire project and you certainly exceeded my expectations for both professionalism and outcome. I recently used Firefly for photography for my electoral campaign in East Coast Bays. I found Rory highly organised and professional in all respects. He met with me in advance to discuss what we were trying to achieve. He had also clearly put significant thought into the set up and different angles before the shoot. Being in Real Estate my reputation and image is everything. I quickly learned that taking your own shots for business cards / websites was not the way to go. So I tried a “professional photographer” and although they were better I always thought they didn’t really capture the “me” that I believe I am.
